Frequently asked questions
Everything photographers ask us before opening an account — how selection works, what the client sees, what it costs and what happens to your files.
How Pixchoose works
What is Pixchoose, exactly?
A tool for handing photos to a client and getting their choice back. You upload a shoot or an event, send one link, and the client marks the frames they want. You receive a finished list instead of emails full of file numbers. Pixchoose is not another cloud drive — it is built around the client's decision, not around moving files.
What is the difference between a "session" and a "gallery"?
A session is private material for one client where the choice itself is the point, so we store images at up to 1024 px and keep no originals. A gallery is the mode where the client is meant to receive full-quality files, so originals stay untouched. You pick the type when you create the event, and it drives your storage cost.
Do I need to install anything?
No. Pixchoose runs in the browser on both sides. You upload through the panel, the client opens the gallery with a link. If you work in Lightroom, the client's choice comes back in a form you can load into your catalogue without retyping anything.
How long do photos stay available?
You choose the retention period per event when you create it, and it affects the price. When the period ends the material is removed — with advance notice, so nothing disappears unannounced.
Can I take session bookings through Pixchoose?
Yes. The calendar lets you publish your open slots as one link, take a booking, and send the confirmation and reminder. You can use it alongside galleries or entirely on its own.
Does the gallery look like my brand?
Yes — the gallery can be matched to your studio so the client does not experience it as a raw folder of files. It is part of the same service they are paying for.
What your client sees
Does the client need an account?
No. The client opens the gallery with one link and starts browsing and marking photos immediately. No sign-up, no password, no app to install. Every extra step is another week of waiting for a decision — so there are none.
Does the gallery work on a phone?
Yes, and that is the default case. Most clients go through their photos on a phone in the evening — scrolling, full-screen preview and marking a selection all work there exactly as on a desktop.
Can the client download my originals?
Not during selection. The client sees reduced-resolution previews, usually watermarked. You release full-quality files deliberately — after the choice is made and settled.
Can I password-protect a gallery?
Yes. A gallery can be closed behind a password, so a link that gets forwarded by accident shows nobody anything. For private or corporate material that is a baseline, not an extra.
Can the client leave a note on a photo?
Yes. Beyond marking favourites, the client can add a remark to a specific frame — a crop request, for instance. It reaches you together with the selection list, in one place.
What if several people make the choice together?
For corporate and brand shoots the decision rarely belongs to one person. You can pass the link to everyone who gets a say and collect one result instead of running three parallel email threads.
Pricing and billing
What does Pixchoose cost?
You pay per event rather than a flat subscription that keeps running in months with no shoots. The price depends on the event type, the number of photos and the retention period you choose. Current rates are on the pricing page.
Is there a trial?
A new account receives one-off starting credit you can spend on your first events. That works better than a countdown trial: you are not racing a two-week clock, you use it when you actually have a shoot to deliver.
Will I get an invoice?
Yes. Account top-ups are invoiced, and you can fill in your billing details in the panel — including pulling them automatically from a Polish VAT number.
What currency do you bill in?
The default currency is the Polish złoty. The account currency is chosen once, at registration.
Can I refer another photographer?
Yes, and both sides gain: whoever opens an account with your referral code receives extra credit, and you receive credit for the referral.
What if the client picks more photos than the package covers?
You see a counter of marked photos, so you know immediately whether the choice fits the agreed package or goes beyond it. The conversation about the surcharge is then based on a number rather than an impression.
Data, rights and security
Who owns photos uploaded to Pixchoose?
You do. Pixchoose is a tool for delivering and selecting them — we claim no rights to your images and do not use them for our own purposes.
What about GDPR?
How data is processed is set out in our privacy policy, and you collect client consents in one place instead of on paper. That follows directly from the fact that a shoot always concerns a specific person's likeness.
Can I delete an event early?
Yes. You can remove material before the paid retention period ends — which matters when a client asks for their photos to be deleted.
Who has access to a gallery?
Whoever has the link, plus the password on a protected gallery. Galleries are not publicly discoverable and do not appear in search results.
Where are the files stored?
Photos sit on the application server, and the client never receives a direct file address — every preview and every download passes through the application, which checks permissions first.
Can I use Pixchoose in English or Ukrainian?
Yes. The panel and the galleries work in Polish, English and Ukrainian, so you can serve clients who do not speak Polish without translating the interface for them.
