Delivering photos to clients: an elegant gallery instead of WeTransfer
Hand over the finished photos in a gallery the client opens with one link: full resolution, single-file downloads or everything as a ZIP, and a link that does not expire after a few days.
WeTransfer, email, a drive — and a client hunting for the link
Most photographers deliver finished photos the way they send any large file: a WeTransfer link, a Google Drive folder, sometimes a USB stick. The files arrive, but the client’s experience ends on a grey download screen — and that is the moment they remember from the whole job.
A week later the questions start: “the link expired, can you send it again?”, “where are the photos from the church?”, “grandma can’t open a ZIP on her phone”. Transfer links expire after a few days, cloud folders get mixed up with private files, and every resend is another message on your side.
Then there is the order of work: if the client picked photos in one tool and gets the final files in another, you run two separate processes for one shoot. Delivery should be the last step of the same path, not a new email thread.
How Pixchoose delivers photos to clients
Full resolution
A Delivery gallery keeps the originals without downsizing. The client downloads the files at exactly the quality you exported them.
The whole gallery as a ZIP
The client downloads single photos or requests a ZIP of the whole gallery — we build it in the background, and once it is ready it is one click to download.
Password protection
Lock the gallery with a password, so a forwarded link shows nobody anything. For private and corporate photos that is the baseline.
Your logo and colours
In selected packages the gallery shows your studio’s logo and colours instead of the neutral Pixchoose look.
From 3 to 12 months
You choose the storage period when you create the gallery — 3, 6 or 12 months on the price list. The link works for that whole period, not a few days.
Selection first, then delivery
The client picks frames in a Proofing gallery, you edit only those, and you deliver the finals in a Delivery gallery — all from one panel.
How to deliver photos to a client — step by step
1. Export the final files. Export full-resolution JPEGs from Lightroom or Capture One, with names the client will recognise — ideally the same ones they saw when choosing.
2. Create a Delivery gallery. Pick the photo tier and the storage period. You see the price before the gallery is created and pay only for that gallery — no subscription.
3. Upload and set access. Turn on a password if the material is private and, in a package with branding, add your studio’s logo and colours.
4. Check the preview. Open the gallery the way the client will see it before you send the link. Only then pass it on.
5. Send one link. The client opens the gallery on a phone or a computer and downloads single photos or everything as a ZIP — no account needed.
6. Give a deadline. The gallery lives for the storage period you chose. Tell the client until when they can download, and ask them to make a copy in that time.
Questions about delivering photos
How do I send a client photos in full resolution?
Create a Delivery gallery, upload the final files and send the client the link. The originals are not downsized, and the client downloads them one by one or as a single ZIP.
How is this different from WeTransfer?
WeTransfer moves files and that is where its job ends, and a free link expires after a few days. A Pixchoose gallery shows the photos in an elegant view, can be password-protected and works for the whole storage period you chose.
Does the client need an account to download the photos?
No. The client opens the gallery from a link, with no sign-up and no app to install. If you set a password, they enter it on the way in.
How long does the client have access to the photos?
For the storage period chosen when the gallery was created — 3, 6 or 12 months on the price list. After that the files are deleted, so it is worth asking the client to make a copy.
Can the client choose first and receive the photos afterwards?
Yes. The client picks frames in a Proofing gallery, you load the selection into Lightroom, and you deliver the finished files in a Delivery gallery — from the same panel, with no hopping between tools.
